Here is the latest report from Eddie at Van Wormer. Looks like some dorado are showing up early and aggressively feeding on ballyhoo...see report.
Hola Amigos,
Another great week of fishing on the East Cape. It's starting to look a
lot like our peak season fishing. The craziest part about it is that
there hasn't been any wind to speak of for two solid weeks. Fishing has
been super close to the hotel. This morning 4 super pangas went out
fishing. As most of you know, the super pangas are launched
into the water each morning. Before we had the 4th panga in the water,
the 1st panga already had 3 dorado on board. The caught them right in
front where the cruisers are anchored. You can’t beat that. We are
starting to see some nice size dorado too. The ones caught today were
in the 20-30 lb. range. We are also seeing lots of white bonita,
sierra, stripe marlin and jacks. Weather has been in the mid to upper
80's all week and the water temps. are in the mid 70's. There are some
great winter rates being offered right now, so if you can break away,
come down and enjoy some cold beers and great fishing.
Thanks,
Eddie Dalmau
