We are definitely in the transition to warmer Summer water conditions. The weather has been mild and beautiful with light breezes. Terrafin reports are showing warmer 85 degree water creeping up the mainland. Overall, May was a solid showing of striped marlin with flurries of tuna up to 50# coming from schools offshore chasing flying fish and squid. Wahoo to 63# were very consistent for this time of year with two or three coming to the dock on a regular basis. We also saw some nice dorado to 45# but not a lot of quantity yet. As for big fish, two blue marlin and a black marlin were landed in the last week. The biggest topped out at 450#. Inshore, we are see good pargo, cabrilla and jacks. Fishing has been mostly North but we are seeing some more action down South as the warmer water moves up. Check out our client photos for May.
