East Cape Guides Fishing Report

From the watery desk of Mark Daugherty

The water continues to be in the chilly low 70s but fishing has still been pretty consistent. Tuna are still on the chewy with boats getting an ample supply of tuna in the 10-50lb. range. Although it has been long awaited, we're also seeing a few more dorado flags flying this past week. Striped marlin have been in the mix with most bites coming in the afternoon. We did get a few blues this week with one weighing in at an estimated 350lbs. and another hooked by a client was an estimated 450lbs. This fish came bounding out of water multiple times not more that 30 feet off the starboard side of the boat, all lit up and ready to dance.

Photo this week is of Tom Nordrum of Montana with his two grandsons Jacob and Joey with a nice Striped Marlin. Excellent team effort on the CPR (catch, photo and release).

Buena pesca,

Mark
